Life has a funny way of making you realize you need to change directions. For so long I was content, or at least pretended to be, with the fact that I was overweight. I would get bursts of inspiration every now and again… lose a few pounds, spend a few dollars on a lightly used gym membership, buy a few new sports bras… only to start back where I was before. Or worse. Usually worse. It’s amazing how easy it is to put on 15 pounds after busting your butt to lose 10. Sigh.
But after my second child (and my highest weight) I realized that I am obligated to be the best version of myself and that the person staring back at me in the mirror wasn’t her. This blog is designed to chronicle my health and weight loss journey as I try to find who she is while navigating being a mom to two amazing little boys, a wife to my incredibly understanding husband, and an executive at our family business.
As I like to remind myself: it’s so hard but it’s so worth it!
